Steve moved into the role as Ministry Team Leader in January 2013. He has had previous ministry experience as a Youth Pastor and Men’s Ministry Pastor as well as working with Youth Dimension in Melbourne and the Bible Society in NSW. Steve also carries the role of Chaplain to the V8 Ute series, and works with the broader V8 Supercar chaplaincy team. He is a motor mechanic by trade and has a real passion to see the gospel presented in a culturally relevant way to ordinary Aussies. He holds a Bachelor of Theology and is ordained by the Churches of Christ in QLD. He is married to Belinda, and together they have a daughter Zoe and a son Thomas.

Bryce joined the team at Southport Church of Christ in June 2018. He has a passion for the local church and loves to see lives being transformed through the message of Jesus. He has had previous ministry experience as an elder at SCC, and has pastored at Bundaberg, Caloundra and Gympie. Prior to ministry, Bryce worked in HR roles in the tourism and not-for-profit sectors. Bryce is committed to shepherding, teaching and equipping others, and holds a BBus in HR, a BA in Psychology, and a Master of Divinity. He is married to Donna, and they have two children, Hannah and Josh.

Pip has called Southport Church of Christ her home church since childhood, and took up a pastoral role with the church in July 2018. She has served overseas for the past 10 years, specifically working with women and the church in developing countries. She has a heart to see followers of Jesus grow in their faith, understanding and love of God and live out their purpose in serving the world. She has a Masters of Enterprise and a BA (Hons) in International Development. She is married to Andrew and they have two children.

Adam has called Southport Church of Christ his home church since childhood. He is married to his wife Tegan and they have two children. He joined the team in early 2017 serving as Youth Pastor after completing his internship at SCC. Adam has a passion to see all young people know all that God has created them to be.

Married to Jillian and father of three, Don joined the pastoral team at SCC in April 2020. He has a genuine passion for sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Prior to SCC, Don planted a church in Inala, Brisbane, working with people of many different cultures. He has also worked with youth in Lawnton and The Gap, Brisbane. He was ordained in 2008. In his spare time, he enjoys art, golf, fishing and reading. He is happiest sharing his faith with others and seeing them reach their full, God-given potential.

Zane joined the team at Southport Church of Christ in 2022. He is passionate about the gospel and seeing lives transformed by Jesus. Zane has over 14 years of ministry experience as a youth pastor, and has worked with young people in both children’s ministry and primary school chaplaincy roles. He is always looking for opportunities to encourage the church through preaching and teaching and is passionate about discipleship. Zane has qualifications in theology, youth work and urban and environmental planning. He is married to Stacey and they have four children.

Adam joined the team at Southport Church of Christ after completing his internship in 2022. Although Adam grew up at Southport Church of Christ, it was not until 2017 that he encountered the love of Jesus Christ and became a Christian. Adam is passionate about evangelism, seeing people come to know Jesus, and discipleship. Adam has qualifications in law and is currently studying theology.

Since moving to the Gold Coast in 2009, Cayden has called SCC home, joining the Worship/Creative team in 2010. Coming alongside Katie Rowse as Worship Coordinator, his prayer and passion is that, as Christians worldwide, we would earnestly seek to pursue and implement the truth of how God calls His people to genuinely and Biblically worship Him; to desire that every area of our lives would be humbled to divert full focus, attention, and awareness not to ourselves, but to Him who deserves glory only.

Deborah and Phil have been married for over 30 years. They have raised three children, Adam, Dane and Grace and are long term members of Southport Church of Christ. Deborah is passionate about loving God and loving people. She has a background in the Diplomatic Service and University Administration and is excited to have the privilege of serving the church community as a Pastoral Care Coordinator. Phil is passionate about seeing people come to know the love of Jesus. He has a varied background from welding to nursing and is keen to serve the SCC community in any way he can as a Pastoral Care Coordinator.

Georgia has been on staff at SCC since January 2018 and attending since she was born. She is married to Daniel and has two daughters. Jan’s particular interest and expertise is working with adults who have experienced multiple losses, resulting in difficulties in coping with life and its stresses. Grief, bereavement, relationship breakdowns, loss of employment, transition in life roles, ageing and trauma are common areas she helps people in. Jan has her Doctorate in Psychology and is a qualified Clinical Psychologist. Jan is married to her husband, Craig.

Although Glenn has experience counselling with a wide variety of issues, his great passion is Marriage & Relationship counselling. The paid staff team, overseen by the Ministry Team Leader, carry out the day-to-day operations of the church and oversee their respective areas of ministry such as youth, young adults, families etc.
The role of the Governance Team is to oversee and direct the affairs of the church, which includes policy, finance, staff appointments, and overseeing the activities of the Ministry Team Leader. The team is comprised of volunteer Elders (elected by the congregation), the Ministry Team Leader, and the Executive Pastor (non-voting).

In a world where we can be heavily influenced by a lot of things. I chose to be a youth leader because I believe it is such a great opportunity to spend time with the youth and to be able to share with them who Jesus is and what the Gospel is all about. And I pray that through the times I spend with these kids, in some small way, I am able to help be a positive influence in their lives.
