Welcome to Alive Youth, a Gold Coast youth group helping our high school community find hope and pursue their purpose in Jesus. We are committed to supporting our young people by creating a space where they can have fun, enjoy community and feel supported as they walk through life as a high school student. The main event: Friday Night Youth! Every Friday during the school term from 6.30pm-9.00pm, we invite students in grades 7-12 from schools across the Gold Coast to hang out with us and enjoy some music, food, activities and a short message from one of their mentors. Students spend time in their year-level life groups; each led by a young adult mentor whose goal is to create a safe space to connect, discuss life issues and pray for each other.
Steve moved into the role as Ministry Team Leader in January 2013. He has had previous ministry experience as a Youth Pastor and Men’s Ministry Pastor as well as working with Youth Dimension in Melbourne and the Bible Society in NSW. Steve also carries the role of Chaplain to the V8 Ute series, and works with the broader V8 Supercar chaplaincy team. He is a motor mechanic by trade and has a real passion to see the gospel presented in a culturally relevant way to ordinary Aussies. He holds a Bachelor of Theology and is ordained by the Churches of Christ in QLD. He is married to Belinda, and together they have a daughter Zoe and a son Thomas.
